Urban and land planning
GeoSLab offers Public Administrations the technological capacity and the geographic applications needed to exploit the huge volume of geospatial information they generate, both in their internal processes and in the collaboration with other administrations. GeoSLab studies each case providing adapted solutions to the customer working flow, with the aim of making the geographic information sharing and publication easy, fast, simple and low-cost.
Therefore, thanks to the exploitation of the spatial characteristics of resources, the relationship between different departments is optimized, at the same time that citizen experience in his interaction with the information of the public entity is improved. With special emphasis on developing services for citizens and complying with the guidelines established by accessibility and usability, GeoSLab suggests a group of tools and services to carry out the following activities:
- Inclusion of geo-referencing tools used to the regular management of resources that allows administration staff to place points of interest (POIs) on a map.
- Location of interesting information on a map, making the interaction easier by using the geographic placement as a navigation criterion.
- Incorporation of dynamic thematic maps created by users to complement textual contents published by administrations
- Search of thoroughfare on an interactive street map which includes points of interest (POIs) and detailed information of both, thoroughfares and POIs.
- Incorporation of cartographic information from external sources and institutional data.
GeoSLab follows the SDI paradigm in the development of all these tools and services, complying with the guidelines established by the European Directive INSPIRE and basing on standards that makes interoperability and collaboration between entities easier, as well as information reuse (Spanish law 37/2007, 16th November, about reuse of information in public sector).
