Digital Twin for Nuts and Seeds Farms - GEDEFEC (AEI-010500-2021b-122)
Objective:
The aim of the project is to develop a proposal for a digital twin for a specific type of farm: nuts.
Digital twins allow the digitisation of physical reality as a base to apply artificial intelligence techniques to large volumes of data. The concept of digital twins in agriculture is so far very little consolidated, especially due to the great complexity of discretising a reality based on living "elements" (a plant or an animal or a group of them...) and with such heterogeneous and complex temporal (plants with life spans of one year versus plants with life spans of hundreds of years...) and spatial (small farms versus larger ones) scopes.
Specific objectives
The project is structured in three phases, during the first one, work will be done to:
- Obtain a data model to support the development of the digital twin. To do this, we will identify and characterise the variables that are relevant in nut crops, as well as the relationships between them.
- Identify the data sources for each of the selected variables.
- Specify the functionalities that the digital twin should have.
- To have a first implementation of the information system that constitutes the digital twin.
- To have a first demonstrator fed with data from a real farm that can serve as a basis for the development of the following phases.

Technological platform for offering low-cost remote sensing services
The main objective of this project has been the design and construction of a platform prototype that systematically gathers and processes remote sensing data to generate final products or basic products over which third parties could create other more added value and complex remote sensing solutions.
Basically, we have tried to invert the traditional focus of the processes in the scope of these technological solutions in such a way that remote sensing products are available automatically prior to their sale.

aGROSLab – GO
Geolocation and Optimization of farming processes in open environments (RTC-2016-4790-2)
Project financed by the Program of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness “Challenges in Cooperation” for 2016.
Objectives:
- Improvement of automatization rates and optimization of farming processes linked to product traceability and planning and execution of activities on field.
- Development of a software platform to build Location Based Services (LBS) in geographic areas without 3G coverage.
- Development of optimized hardware, mainly low energy consumption sensors, to obtain necessary information to provide Location Based Services in a farming context without 3G coverage. These sensors can be installed in farming equipment without power source (tools, trailers, etc.) and dispose of high level autonomy.

Advanced ICT Risk Assessment Tool to Increase Climate Resilience, Water-Use Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability of Agricultural Production.
It´s the first tool to fully take into account agricultural farmer’s needs to provide effective water and risk management; considering key internal and external data input. It integrates water management and nitrate pollution EU legislation, watershed data and underground aquifers.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement Nº 744140
FINODEX
Our project “Pesticide Finder: Your advisor on pesticide management” was selected on the first call of FINODEX (Future Internet Open Data Expansion), one of the 16 FIWARE accelerators co-financed by the European Union that selects, funds and provides support services to projects from SMEs & Web Entrepreneurs building upon the FIWARE technology and reusing Open Data. We are one of the top 10 companies that have passed to phase 4 (196 applications were submitted; 49 projects passed to phase 2 and 30 to phase 3).
Pestifinder is a tool to help agriculture companies, farmers and advisors to choose the most suitable pesticide for their crops in compliance with current law. It integrates all available public information about authorized pesticides in Member States of the UE and enriches it with geographic information, providing access to users through an easy-to-use Web interface.
