REDFARA INFO: MOBILE APP SPECIALISED IN PLANT HEALTH

The Plant Health and Certification Service, in collaboration with the Phytosanitary Surveillance Network of Aragón (RedFAra), has launched a mobile application that channels all plant health-related information relevant to the agricultural sector in Aragón.

RedFAra info, as the application is called, is a significant step forward in the process initiated in recent years in Aragon to promote a more sustainable agriculture and its main objective is to create a direct communication channel to transmit alerts with the necessary agility to be able to respond to the threat posed by pests and diseases to different crops.

The information provided by the app is obtained thanks to the collaborative work of the more than 100 technicians that make up the Phytosanitary Surveillance Network of Aragón, who collect data in the field and dump them on a technological platform for processing and analysis and subsequent decision-making in relation to Integrated Pest Management.

The main functionalities of the app are:

  • Pest alerts, based on incidence levels for crops and geographical areas of interest.
  • Monitoring of the evolution of pests, with data from the last two seasons.
  • Access to the Plant Health and Certification Service warning bulletins.
  • Consultation of meteorological data from the more than 60 connected stations.
  • Other resources of the Phytosanitary Surveillance Network such as weekly monitoring reports or test results.

The app is free and available for download from the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
